Heal a Broken Heart (Commentary)

Lyrics
[Commentary: Wax & Kush Mody] aah, part two of the trilogy, Heal a Broken Heart. And uh, this one is pretty straightforward in a way uh yeah talkin' about being broken hearted and how it feels. Not everybody has to go through that, y'know? that's true I've been through it several times in my life. Just that feeling of like, a bad break up where you just can't you can't focus on anything else but it y'know. And uh, yeah I really like this one especially the chorus. And I was- I didn't think I was gonna be the one that sang this chorus right here sounds like Phil Collins It does, and you mixed it like Phil Collins too, however you did that little double or whatever it is yeah, classic- what is that? -classic. Nah man, I mean thats mainly you, I- its just the way your voice sounds. It was triple right its three, three layers of you Yeah I was thinking somebody else would sing that but I guess it sounds- I put the right emotion in it yup the Tom Petty song, thats real. Thats what- you know that was one of the first lyrics to this song I wrote with the Tom Petty song because- You know it kinda goes with what I was just saying. Some people and some songs you really connect with and Tom Petty to me has a few songs that get to me emotionally, but it really gets to me because this girl I used to date for a long time loved Tom Petty, and American Girl and Wildflower still fuck me up when I hear it a little bit, you know to this day. But it- in a good way, you know, it's not even really about that it's just that they're strong emotions to me. for sure you fuck with Tom Petty like that? I don't know if it invokes, any strong emotions but yeah I fuck with Tom Petty It's interesting, I don't know his albums yeah y'know? Just just a couple of the hits and maybe the fact that they're hits and they feel like they're on the radio you know yeah where ever you are in you nostalgic place was, I don't know yeah I mean I'm not- Oh yeah thats me on the background vocals You wrote- you wrote those- you wrote 'em for me to sing and I couldn't sing 'em aha ha haha. I wasn't gonna…expose you like that but yeah I'm a- I'm out here in the open, dawg. Expose I like this bridge! Another funky bassline do do do do do You picture the band even tho you played all the instruments yeah Like the bass player knows when it's his time to shine right like it's always the bridge, y'know eh heh Like "okay it's my part" I intentionally kept everything else simple for that reason Oh really? so that the bass can have- you know- have have some space well I mean, It worked I just like the single quarter notes on the- the piano? on the piano yeah I think I- I have the- I think I play the acoustic guitar on this yup It's in you hear it in, left yeah, thats the demo, I just kept it in. It's this- you're demo you sent me an acoustic, and I just added on top to it- on top of it. It kinda cool that I'm listening to it with all the lala's, It's very syncopated with all the stuff, y'know uh huh and it- the panning of it is- it separates it enough so that it doesn't get jumbly, y'know I just love that you just hold out this note. For a, like, almost too long yeah, Yeah a lot of people that I showed the song asked me like "are you sure you wanna do that?" and I was like "yeah" Dude it's such a good call
