Coping With Grief

Lyrics
Welcome to this guided meditation on grief and grieving I'd like to start by saying you're probably here because you're dealing with a loss of some kind You may have lost a job, a romantic partner, the end of a business venture, or something much more serious Sometimes, instead of talking about it openly and coping with those feelings, we bottle it up inside I can't pretend to understand precisely the grief that you are expеriencing But I can acknowledge that it must bе painful and sorrowful And I can say to you, this too shall pass It may take some time, but there is light at the end of the tunnel Find a comfortable position in a quiet room or outside Or maybe upright against some pillows so you have some support Breathe deep, relax and close your eyes Take a deep breath And again Now when you exhale, try letting it flow out of you Like you are sighing or pushing out any negative feelings It's okay if the sigh is audible, keep doing this Fill your lungs with air Replenish these inner wells that may be holding on to negative thoughts or grief Keep breathing, in and out Try softening your shoulder and neck area Where ever you are holding tightness, that's where we should direct our attention Soften these areas, let's stay here for a few moments And now feel the beating of your heart, its rhythm and pace If your mind starts to race, gently bring it back to the breath Life is bittersweet because there are beginnings and endings Life is full of transitions and is this [?] which makes every moment special and unique Sometimes in order for there to be growth, there has to be renewal As we move through life, we may lose a job, partner, friends, family members, even our aspirations and goals This absence is profound We fill this void deep in our hearts Yes, saying goodbye or ending something can cause tremendous grief But with time, the pain of loss can eventually fade And the fondness of memory can take over Because before you grieved, you loved You held fast to whatever was dear to you To whatever or whomever moved you To whatever or whomever is now the source of grief Your love doesn't have to end It can endure There may come a time when the memory of what is causing your grief may actually bring a smile to your face This memory can shine brilliantly in your head and mind It can be a source of love, light, and even laughter It may take a while, but a brighter day is on the horizon Keep breathing We are here together I'm wishing you healing and warmth as you continue up the path
