I don't know if you share this, Kush Yeah It's kinda like, has like a little shop of horrors kinda like, could sound- could be a a scene in a musical where the guys like, looking back at his life and sa- "I was blind" Ha! "I never knew" y'know what I mean? Yeah Whereas this one just drops into "here we are, Los Angeles." Dude-dudes tryna be a pick Exactly. Trying? Being. Being That's more like it Uh, a thought I had about this song is like, I think the city- I think L.A. is magical Mm Y'know what I'm sayin'. I think it makes you kinda feel, good about yoursеlf and make- when you drive around and you see all thе lights, and you see all these people and the billboards, it gives you like this sense of hope, you know? Oh, absolutely And, in some cases, I think my case being, kinda like this. Like you, you move here with hopes and dreams and some of them get achieved…maybe not all of them. Y'know? If- if your dream is to have a gold record in Germany… Yeah, yeah Dream come true I don't get- I didn't get that feeling in Munich, you know? Or Berlin Dude, I did- Oh, you know what? You weren't there. We were in Austria when your shit came on the radio, we were fr- freaking out. Yeah That's where it did the best Yea It was number one for four weeks in a row, and that's why I have the gold record Yea Which I mention on one of our songs We- we'll get there I did talk about that gold record, but we got that just now because we're talking about, kinda like that magic of L.A., and when I first moved here- y'know, when I first moved here, I was much younger, and I was more into going out, and me and my boy T-Rexx would often like, really go to like- you know we'd go to comedy events and like nightclubs and like I don't know I j- I felt a magic here and a hope in the air that like not all cities have, and in fact my hometown really doesn't have it. Y'know, shoutout my hometown, it's a great place to raise a family Yeah Y'know what I'm sayin'? But if you wanna have big dreams, especially like a kid that grew up before the internet, and like people on TV just seem like they're on Mars or something, like there was a magic to this city, y'know? For sure And I feel like this song is kinda inspired by that This one also- you know it… it kinda sets up the arc on this album about, uh relationships. Y'know what I mean like- Yes This one kinda is like the- the puppy love kinda stage The courting Courting! exactly It's interesting how music like… It is courting, and you can hear it in lyrics. Like, it's kinda like, some songs are written almost as like a bird-of-paradise dance. Eh- 'cause if you think about the lyrics like, you're talking directly to this hypothetical girl. It's not like, "we, me and her" it's "me and you" y'know what I'm sayin'? Right, right Like, I guess, any wom- Like I don't know it's like subconscious that we do this, but we're kinda doin' that. It's a mating call Yeah, and I feel like it's one of the only artforms that you can do that with Right You know? You can do it with dancing, but I couldn't pull it off. Y'know what I'm saying? *Laugh* True I don't think you can pull it off either, no offense *Laugh* You speak for yourself But I think this is th- this is really the only song on the album that has that that type of bravado Yea This album, besides this song, is more like emotionally vulnerable.
