[Verse] Oh I'm on my way to heaven and I'm so glad I'm on my way to heaven and I'm so glad Oh I'm on my way to heaven and I'm so glad And the devil can't do me any harm [Sermon] You'll find my text in the 16th chapter of Matthew, and the 18th verse. The words of the text: "Upon this rock I will build My church; and the very gates of hell shall not prevail against it." Subject: Christ, the head of the church. My friend, when Christ was coming out of the coasts of Caesarea Philippi, why, uh, He had His twelve disciples, and, uh, He said unto them, why, "Who the men say I am?" and they answered that "Some say You're Moses, and some say Elijah, and some say one thing, and some say another." And Jesus said unto them, "Ah, yes, they do say that, but I wanna know from you, whom do you say that I am?" And Simon Peter looked and said "I say Thou are the Christ, the Son of the living God." Jesus looked unto him, ah, "Blessed art thou, Simon: flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but it came from My Father in heaven. And thou art Simon [sic]," which means "the rock," "and upon [?] of your faith. I say unto thee," — Ah Lord! — " upon this rock I'll build My church, and the very gates of hell shall not prevail against it. And I'm gon' give you the keys to the kingdom, and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven. Whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven." Ah, my friend, the Lord said "[?] heaven and earth will pass away, [?] God's word shall always stand. Men may die, men may lay down and die, men may pass away, but God's word shall always stand." Ah Lord! All you preachers [?] down here, thou be the church of God. Stand at the house of God. Ah Lord! God's got His eyes on you, sees all you do, and He hears all you say. Ah Lord! I wanna tell you tonight, God is gon' call your soul [?] after a while, and you better make preparations, get right with God — ah Lord! — because you got stand your [?]. Amen.
