Lyrics

[Verse 1] Took off my gloves and I hung up my coat I sat myself down to write you a note Thought about dialling your number at first But as the phone rang, well the words left my throat I must have tried every combination of words Sitting for hours and fumbling the words Well in the end I as good as gave up Just a post-it that read, "Please don't wait up" [Instrumental Break] [Verse 2] Could have sworn I was better at this I never used to be so hit or miss Whatever happened to all of my grace These days some things just feel so hard to face Figured my post-it got swept away And to be honest I had more to say, but Even as I put my pen to the page The words don't add up to what I try to convey [Instrumental Break] [Verse 3] Confession that rests on the edge of my lips Talk myself off of a ledge, get a grip Gather my strength and I pull in the breath Feel so embarrassed it scares me to death I wrote a song, but it probably won't work This chorus feels weak, and so does the verse But I wrote this letter, full of mistakes Just to say, "I'd like to see you again"
