Lyrics

The Pedlar arrived on a cold day With no one to call on and no one to stay Considered the dream that may become To stand on the bridge until his body felt numb Cause everywhere people swarm it's hard to frame you 'Till the stranger approached him and his dream came true The Pedlar decided it was deja vu The Stranger was shocked and said 'I feel like I know you' And everywhere Roses grow, the harvest bleeds in Spend their town out on a pillow of green You wonder if the vultures approve You look at them, looking at you On rainy days when the sky looks blue You're at the window changing the view But your luck is gonna turn, the turn is gonna come And soon you'll be a saint to someone The Pedlar departed on the third night He thought of the Stranger as he walked in the moonlight He savored the touch of the unknown Thinking too much on the way back home And everywhere shadows moved across the landscape His heart was holding what the Stranger had told him He leathered your hates just from your big tree Go gather the stream and begin to dig And everywhere People go to gossip and greed now Be careful where you are, the trinkets are free now If that's the way you live and die No children here exporting the crime On rainy days it's warm inside In the cottage where your spirit resides You used to light your candle and pray Now look at you, you're making you're way
