Lyrics
[DOC, spoken] One small thing, the teen psychiatric ward is under renovation; you'll be staying in the adult ward for the time being [CRAIG, spoken] Um, is that safe? [DOC, spoken] It's temporary [CRAIG,spoken] That's not an answer? [DOC, spoken] Relax (sung) No one here is sick Everybody here is looking for the same thing The world outside these walls isn't made for everyone You know it isn't always fun And the one thing that they need just can't be found (spoken) It's time. Nothing but time (sung) Time to readjust Time to start to question who you are And what life is And why you battle with depression Times for minds to get refreshed and freshly see the life in question (spoken) They're a colorful crew. I think it's time they made a first impression. Craig, I want you to meet Humble, one of our superstars here at Six North [HUMBLE, spoken] Who are you? [CRAIG, spoken] I'm Craig [HUMBLE, spoken] You look like a Danny [DOC, spoken] It's Craig, Humble, I checked. What're you working on? [HUMBLE, spoken] I'm drawin' a beaver [DOC, spoken] I don't think the beavers you draw are appropriate here, and I think you know that [HUMBLE, spoken] Oh, yeah? [Humble pulls out a very neat, nicely colored beaver drawing.] [DOC, spoken] That's actually pretty great [HUMBLE, spoken] Thanks, Doc [DOC, spoken] Anyway... [DOC] He's new and he needs a little TLC [HUMBLE, spoken] Oh, yeah? [DOC, spoken] Yeah, can you show him around? [HUMBLE, spoken] Uh, yeah [DOC] The renovations in the teenage wing- [DOC, spoken] Means he'll be joining you here [HUMBLE, spoken] Well, by the sound of it... (sung) What they mean by renovations Is there's a personal invasion They're bugging the phones, the lights in the ceiling When you think you're alone you're not They'll be watching your room, and when you're doin' it [CRAIG, spoken] Who's "they"? [HUMBLE, spoken] Shhh! They could be listening right this minute! [DOC, spoken] We'll see you later on, Humble [HUMBLE, spoken] Thanks Doc [CRAIG, spoken] Nice to meet you Humble! [HUMBLE, spoken] Yeah, nice to meet you too, Danny [DOC] There are reasons everybody needs to be here Everyone deserves a chance to feel like they are understood It's a wonder that a human who's as human as we are Can look inside and see this place as anything but good [JC, spoken] You! [CRAIG, spoken] Me? [JC, spoken] Has anyone told you you have an interesting energy? (sung) I'm sure that you must hear it all the time (spoken) You're new, what's your name? [CRAIG] Um, Craig? [JC, spoken] Hi um Craig! (sung) You have an aura with a shade of blue, and the glow of it caught my eye (spoken) You're a cutie (sung) That's quite a puppy-eyed expression Let me guess, you have depression [CRAIG, spoken] Uh, depression- uh, no I um- [JC, spoken] It's okay, those words aren't taboo here. My name's Jennifer. It used to be Charles. Everyone calls me JC I'm bipolar [HUMBLE, spoken] She's "bi" lots of things [DOC, spoken] Humble! Back to your beaver [JC] Every day you'll find a reason not to stay here [DOC & JC] Everybody has a secret that they don't let out to play [JC] It's a wonder how a human who's as human as we are Can't understand the fact that humans often need to get away [DOC, spoken] And this is Bobby, our resident rule breaker [BOBBY, spoken] Yeah, we met [DOC] Doctor's lounge? [BOBBY, spoken] They have the best coffee [DOC, spoken] You seem to be in a good mood today. Bobby, can you, um, take care of things? I need to go, uh... I have some business to attend to [HUMBLE, spoken] He's going to take a dump [DOC, spoken] Humble! This is an A and B conversation. Why don't you see your way out? [HUMBLE, spoken] So you can drop a D? Heh [DOC, spoken] Take care of him, Bobby [BOBBY, spoken] You got it. Enjoy your bowel movement. Same time every day [CRAIG, spoken] Uh, who's that? [BOBBY, spoken] Oh that? That's Noelle. She's like a Stephen King novel wrapped in a Robert Frost poem. Sweet kid [CRAIG, spoken] Hi [NOELLE, spoken] Hey... Good talk [BOBBY, spoken] Let's get you to your room (sung) Every day around Six North there is this buzzing There is nothing like the fear of living so misunderstood A buzz from the anxiety that cuts just like a knife For some of us, it's just a rest stop On the highway of our life [CAST] Every day you'll find a reason not to stay here Everybody has a secret that they don't let out to play It's a wonder how a human who's as human as we are Can't understand the fact that humans sometimes need to get away [BOBBY, CAST] No one here is sick Everybody here is looking for the same thing (Ah) [DOC, spoken] Craig, the wizard will see you now
