There are a lots of different pieces of art and film, TV, that found their way to the mood board for this album. Stand By Me , it was a movie I thought a lot about, like the innocence of youth, the knowing that everything is about to change but trying to hang on to those last few moments of childhood. And to understand how deep some of the feelings that we have at a young age are and how sometimes it's hard to express them. Um, I was also very excited about the Lumineers third album. They did like this whole, basically, whole movie and music videos that connected to each character in the songs and I thought it was really brilliant the way that an artist like that can create, like almost a novel about their music. And I wanted to approach this album in like a literary sense, so, uh. I felt that really connected. Cormac McCarthy is my favorite writer of all time, favorite author. And he writes about plays so beautifully in this kind of deeply sad, but also really whimsical and beautiful way and so I, I read a lot of Cormac McCarthy, All the Pretty Horses . Uh, Blood Meridian . Books that really are descriptive and vivid.
