Lyrics

[Interlude] So, I'll tell you, I wanna, this, this— I need to introduce you to the, to the members of the band and the singers before I go any further I want you to meet them and want y'all, I want them to meet you So, let's do this right quick On bass, from Los Angeles, everybody welcome Byron Miller Byron in the house And from New York City by way of North Carolina, haha, that's right, on drums, Ivan Hampden And from Washington, D.C., we first—, he's our newest member. We first met Roger when, um, we were on the road with Vanessa Williams, and he was in hеr band, ah-ha. No, no, it didn't happen. But from Washington, D.C., on percussion, show him your love, this is Rogеr Squitero. Yeah And from Ohio, Cleveland — huh, who, Columbus, haha, he's a keyboard player, he's an arranger, he's a producer in his own right, and a songwriter, please say hello to Skip Anderson. Alright And from Mt. Vernon, New York, ha, I'm telling you, we will not make a record without him, we just won't do it. Everybody, this is Phillip Hamilton on guitar. Thank you, Phil Now, she is from St. Paul, Minnesota, and she's one of the lead singers of the group the Sounds of Blackness. We love the Sounds of Blackness, don't we? I believe in the power — wait wait, let's change the key, that's gonna get a little lofty [Sounds of Blackness "I Believe"] I believe in the power and I never ever doubt Every minute, every hour, I believe I believe in myself 'cause I know I get my health From the power in the sky, I believe Ah, that's the one, that's the one. Everybody, say hello to Pat Lacy. Alright. Love you And these singers, oh my goodness, oh. Look at her just sitting there redefining diva-hood. Go on, girl, ha. From Englewood, New Jersey, that's right, everybody give a warm welcome to Cindy Mizelle. Love you (Cindy, we love you from Englewood) Shenehneh? No, oh no, no, sorry. I'm sorry, I don't have on my contacts, haha. Cindy, they love you from Englewood. (We love you from Englewood) From Detroit, so if you don't clap loudly, she will cut you, plain and simple, everybody, this is Valerie Pinkston And sitting right behind Valerie, she and I first met when, uh, we were auditioning to try to get into Roberta Flack's band, long, long time ago. We went up to Roberta's house — I'ma tell you, that audition took three minutes. I'm serious, literally three minutes. We sang a little bit and Roberta said, "Chile, please. Y'all know y'all got this gig" And then we went in her kitchen and cooked for about three hours. We did, you know. So, um, I want you to please say hello to someone who I've known for a long time and love very dearly. This is Brenda White King. Hey, Brenda. Ah, I love you, haha And he is the lead singer of the group Ray, Goodman and Brown, yes, he is. He's the one who found love on a two-way street, yes, he did, and lost it on a lonely highway, haha. You wanna sing a little bit, Kevin? Y'all wanna hear him sing? 'Cause Kevin turns it out [The Moments "Not On the Outside"] So you think my heart's made of stone And when you're near me, there's no reaction where you're wrong Sing it good, sing it pretty, turn the people out, come on 'Cause from the tip of my toes, my love for you steadily grows on and on, oh And each day I'm not here, I'm soaking wet with my tears Not on the outside but inside strong I love you, I love you, I love you so Without you, I can't go on (Not on the outside but inside strong Not on the outside but inside strong) No, no I need you, I need you, I need you, hey (Not on the outside) Yeah, inside strong What I tell y'all? Ladies and gentlemen, Kevin Owens. I'ma tell you, doesn't he sound good? I'm telling you, he really, Kevin, I gotta tell you, I have to agree with the audience, I have to agree with all of them. You really, really sound good. Gonna come on stage with me sounding all good, haha. He sang his hair off. Ah!
