Sisters Of The Vipers Womb

Lyrics
Long ago, in the land of Eastruun, there lived two sisters But these were no ordinary sisters, for they had no mother or father As babies, they were cut free from the belly of a giant serpent Saved by the Woodsman, that had slain the beast with his own hands These gratuitous sisters were taken To the matriarch of Eastrunn, the Shattering Queen Where the sisters were given the names Disir and Eclipse And together would live under the magical White-eyed gaze of the queen from that day forward Disir and Eclipse loved each other, and loved their queen But they shared love for one other The love for the Woodsman that had Slain the serpent and saved their lives The sisters eventually became part of the fabric of Eastruun The kind Disir wove light to create life It was known as Disir, conjurer of light and life That, as a fairy friend, became Watcher of the fey realms Eclipse, jealous of Disir, found solace in darkness And became known as the mother of crows and empress of bones For years, each sister would hate the other Who would deny them the love of their savior The Woodsman said he could not love Either of the sisters as the way they had wanted For the entirety of his love was for his Shattering Queen This enraged Eclipse, who, with her Warpack companions Went to the queen's chambers late at night To slay her while she dreamt, and then the dark deed was done The empress of bones called to the Woodsman "I have slain the Shattering Queen And I have become the Shattering Queen And you shall love me with your entire heart" But upon seeing his queen's blood The Woodsman, using the same knife He used to open the serpent long ago Stabbed deep into his own chest Eclipse, knowing that Disir could Call upon the fairies to restore life, begged her sister "Please, bring the Woodsman back to me" But Disir would not "I have lost three loves today," Disir cried "The Woodsman, my queen mother, and my sister of the viper's womb" Disir, in unimaginable torment, plucked out one of her own eyes And replaced it with one of the white All-seeing eyes from her dead queen mother Before fleeing into the night aboard her fairies and wolves
