The Druids Part Two: Their Education

Lyrics
[Verse 1] The Druids are accustomed To being exempt from war Nor do they pay taxes Along with everyone else They have exemption From military service And freedom From all impositions [Pre-Chorus] Encouraged by such great rewards And of their own accord Many gather for training And are sent by their parents and relatives They are said to have learned by heart A great number of verses And so spend twenty years In training [Chorus] They seems to me to have established That tradition for two reasons They neither want the training To be made known to the common people Nor do they want those who are learning To pay less attention To memory and rely upon writing [Verse 2] They especially wish to persuade People of this That souls don't die but cross from one body to another After death They think that most of all Men can be encouraged towards virtue by this Besides they discuss And teach the youth many things About the stars and their movements About the size of the universe [Pre-Chorus] And the Earth About the nature of things And about The strength and power Of the Immortal gods [Chorus] They seems to me to have established That tradition for two reasons They neither want the training To be made known to the common people Nor do they want those who are learning To pay less attention To memory and rely upon writing [Instrumental]
