Lyrics

Where am I in this place? Who am I meant to be? In this world In this space Can I find me? I'm halfway through a life that I've tried hard to sustain By living unrelentingly fast And with all my positivity, as toxic as pain I feign this happiness, that doesn't last And now I stand adrift on the 5th Avenue sea The reason why is not very clear But I have a feeling that this place is calling to me And asking "What are you doing here?" So, within this midlife moment I've come up with this plan A sort of existential artistic dare "Go explore this vast museum", you little song and dance man "And find the answеrs that you seek in there" I don't know why I think that this might help mе at all Once I'm in I don't know what I should do But I took a cab and climbed the stairs And I answered the call So i guess, I'm gonna walk on through Where am I in this place? Who am I meant to be? In this world In this space Can I find me? Just think of all the epic ways that MET could unfold And all the worlds that I might get to explore Five thousands years of art and artefacts with stories untold And then I remember I've never been here before Twenty years in New York City and an actor no less I feel ashamed like I should just go and hide How have I never been here, well I think it's anyone's guess But it is on the Upper East Side Where am I in this place? Who am I meant to be? In this world In this space Can I find me? Where am I in this place? Who am I meant to be? In this big old dusty space Can I find Can I find Can I find Am I a fraud? I think I know Ok God, here I go
