Lyrics
I had a dream I had a dream, last night A peculiar dream Most peculiar dream, last night A bright light cracked the sky A sonic boom echoed on high And its reverberations Sounded just like a ribbit What preposterous sights, these riveting lights I was seeing The ribitting fall of some weary space traveling amphibian That plopped down at my feet You know ain't it so neat that she found me I mean the chances are astronomical I took her in my hands Made a home of mossy strands I gave her a bath so watery She's desiccated from re-entry I fed her crickets to the pet store But there's nothing more that she deplored "I just want those bugs from Bug Mars" She cried "I just want those bugs from Bug Mars" And feeling ashamed of my entomologic faux pas I asked for her name and she croaked in a voice so raw She's called Sofia, a horned frog from Argentina And she told me, how she became a cosmofrog She jumped with such force to exceed Earth's escape velocity She bench pressed every day with her legs to reach such virtuosity Her webbed feet sailed on solar winds Her skin it is so thin, it's permeable to the spacetime continuum She traveled to Alpha Centauri To Betelgeuse and when she got hungry The Ant Nebula, a dance on a pulsar Then into deep space to say hi to a quasar There's no telling how much time Has passed on Earth, since she left you see She's bounced off many black holes, thenceforth She's visited the locusts of Draugr The silicon slugs of 62 Kepler The froggies, crystalised Who swim beneath Europa's ice And even a sentient comet A lonely snowball, writing sonnets But the dearest of all The dearest of all The dearest of all Were the bugs on Bug Mars Oh, Sofia I wish you Well Oh, I wish you All the bugs On Bug Mars
