The lyrics initially paint a picture of a world with "more food to go around" and a need for "more room to breathe." It's a fantastical fix for very real problems. This initial optimism quickly sours, however, revealing a sinister undercurrent. The second verse, with its mention of a "vaccine" and shrinking pets, maintains the absurd premise but hints at a mandatory, controlled process. The core tension emerges from the idea of a collective solution being twisted into a tool for division. The lyrical genius lies in the jarring pivot of the third verse. The collective "we" that proposed shrinking suddenly becomes an exclusive "we"—"well-bred, beautiful people" who declare, "Who says we have to go, too?"
