Lyrics
Let me break my own heart But since then, things have positively changed a lot Bradford is my city, Bradford is my land My new land Because I fled from the Conga, I fled the war So for me, uh, there was no choice Uh, Bradford is my land now Uh, no-nostalgie No, before that, maybe memories Is it something about memory, memory about Bradford? Nostalgia-wise, am I thinking about back in the past? Things that are personal to me? Uh, my mother is from Bradford I went five years ago When I arrived in this city And it was up that hill And it was quite dark And I saw lots of that yellow brick everywhere Which is also what Bradford is built from And I was at the bus station For two and a half years at one point And then moved to Leeds For approximately four and a half years I've since moved back to Bradford And been here for about a year and a half And I can safely say I have never been as in love with the city as I am right now On a daily basis, I discover things And good reasons to love this city Uh, for example, venues I could start with The 1 in 12 Club Uh, a beautiful organization, uh, supportive of its members And, uh, supported by its members Uh, a vital resource for political, uh, literature and events and so on Uh, which is, which is good for people who are interested in that sort of thing Uh, they do film showings and, and other things That's one of my favorite places and gigs and so on Uh, there's the Playhouse, uh, a wonderful place Where you can display your art, you can play your music Uh, you can meet people And you can perform your theatrical pieces
