Lyrics

[ JOSEPH, spoken ] Is this about the size of the room? [ LUKE, spoken ] What? [ JOSEPH, spoken ] Where you were. Was the room about this size? [ LUKE, spoken ] Almost exactly, yeah. But in that room, there was only one window [ JOSEPH, spoken ] And it was quiet most of the time, you said? [ LUKE, spoken ] Yeah. Except there was this one shutter, and its hinges rusted out so it was stuck in place, like, sticking out from the house, so when the wind picked up, it made this humming sound. That's pretty much all I would hear when I was alone. At first it freaked me out, it sounded like a haunted house, but then I started liking it. It started sounding like home [ JOSEPH ] How come nobody asks us where we are? Ever Where we're going, sure Not where we are Never We can talk about trips we'll take Boats we'll sail on next year's lake But how come nobody asks us where we are? Books get read, and Weeks go by Life gets single-laned So do I I've been wanting to ask you where you are Lucas Where you've been, but mostly where you are Lucas Go, explore the waves, the moon The world, I hope I'll see you soon But first, I'm wanting to ask you Where you are
