[Spoken Word] Okay, "Let it Happen" I had had the verse melody for let it happen for like, I don't know how many years Uh, six years maybe, and it never left my brain It was always so important to me, this melody But the lyrics that I had originally written for it were properly depressing And something about it just never sat right with me Anyway, Aaron was playing this guitar bit at Long Pond one day And Audrey and I were sitting on the couch Bella was in the room, shout out Bella, uh, she is the greatest engineer and I just adore hеr Anyway, we were all sitting in thе room and Aaron started playing this song And I was like, "Oh my God, like this melody, this melody" But then I got really frustrated because they couldn't think of alternative lyrics for a while Audrey being the kind of, um, mastermind, brilliant You know, one of a kind person that she is Was like, "We're not gonna give up on this, especially if it means that much to you, this melody" So we really pushed through and we were stuck sitting in the other room trying Trying and trying, nothing would come, I was like "We need to do, like, we need to laps around the studio outside" So we ended up sprinting for like ten minutes and eventually cracked it And that got us through the hook and then the rest of the song just came kind of like that Um, I love this song, it's one of my favourite bridges It's some of my favourite production as well Like, the vocal layering is really epic, in my opinion
