After months of wild speculation, retirement rumors, and even a "cancellation" prank, the King of All Media has spoken. Howard Stern announced on Tuesday morning that he isn't going anywhere.

The legendary shock jock, now 71, confirmed live on air that he has renewed his contract with SiriusXM for another three years. "I’m happy to announce that I figured out a way to have it all... more free time and continuing to be on the radio," Stern told his listeners.

For Stern, the decision wasn't just about the money or the platform; it was about loyalty to his longtime partner in crime, Robin Quivers. Stern revealed that he wouldn't have signed the deal without the blessing of Quivers, who is currently battling cancer.

"It does require a tremendous amount of her time. She has to take care of herself," Stern explained, emphasizing that they are a package deal. Quivers, 73, added her own fighting spirit to the announcement, stating, "Cancer is a formidable opponent. You have to be vigilant".

Putting the Rumors to Bed

The road to this announcement was paved with pranks and "fake news." Back in August, reports surfaced claiming the show was set to be canceled. True to his nature, Stern used the rumors as fuel for comedy.

Just last September, he pulled a massive prank on his audience by having Andy Cohen "take over" his channel, leading many to believe the end had truly arrived. But on Tuesday, Stern set the record straight: "Yes, we are coming back for three years".

While financial details weren't disclosed, Stern hinted at a schedule that offers him more flexibility, proving that even after 20 years on satellite radio, he still calls the shots.
