The 40th edition of the Golden Disc Awards (GDA) took over the Taipei Dome on January 10, 2026, delivering a night of historic wins, emotional speeches, and show-stopping performances.
For the first time in the show's history, a third Daesang (Grand Prize) was introduced: Artist of the Year. This new top honor joined the traditional Album and Digital Song Daesangs, marking a significant shift in how K-pop achievements are recognized.
The Night’s Biggest Winners
Stray Kids claimed the prestigious Album of the Year (Daesang) for their album KARMA. In an emotional speech, member Changbin said, "Back then, receiving a Main Prize was my dream, so winning the Grand Prize now makes me incredibly happy." Leader Bang Chan thanked their fans, STAY, adding, "You make Stray Kids stay!".
Jennie took home the inaugural Artist of the Year (Daesang). Celebrating her 10th anniversary since debut, she also stunned the crowd with a powerful performance of her track "Like JENNIE".
G-Dragon proved he is still the King of K-Pop, winning Song of the Year (Daesang) for "Home Sweet Home." Although he accepted the award via video, he promised fans a BIGBANG reunion later this year.
