Get your popcorn ready for February 1st, because the 68th Grammy Awards are going to be emotional. CBS has confirmed that comedian Trevor Noah will return to host music’s biggest night for the sixth consecutive year. But there is a major catch: this will be his final curtain call.
Noah, who has steered the ship steadily since 2021, is officially passing the baton after this ceremony. Executive producer Ben Winston didn't hold back on the praise, calling Noah "the most phenomenal host" and noting that "he’s so smart, so funny, and such a true fan of the artists and music".
Usually, the host is the neutral party, but this year, Trevor has "Main Character Energy." In a meta twist, Noah is actually nominated for a Grammy himself. He is up for Best Audio Book, Narration, and Storytelling Recording for his children's book, "Into The Uncut Grass". Imagine the scene: hosting the show and potentially accepting an award in the same night.
It’s not just Trevor saying goodbye. This ceremony marks the end of the Grammys' long-standing relationship with CBS, which has aired the show since 1973. Starting in 2027, the awards will move to Disney/ABC/Hulu for a 10-year deal. This double farewell adds a layer of nostalgia to the upcoming broadcast from the Crypto.com Arena.
Why do we love Trevor? Because he’s a genuine fan. "I become a fan of a new artist every single time," he told Billboard. He admits that the job is "nerve-wracking" because it’s live and "on the fly," but that chaos is exactly why he loves it.
He will have his hands full this year. The night is set to be dominated by heavyweights, with Kendrick Lamar leading the pack with nine nominations, followed closely by Lady Gaga with seven.
While veterans like Pusha T and Bruno Mars are in the mix, the 2026 Grammys are also about the breakout stars.
Tune in on February 1st to watch Trevor Noah drop the mic—one last time.
