The empire surrounding K-pop legend G-Dragon continues to grow. According to recent industry reports, Galaxy Corporation—the agency representing the artist—is actively exploring a major expansion into the Indian market.
If the move goes forward, Galaxy Corporation would become only the second K-pop agency to establish a formal subsidiary in India, following a similar announcement by industry giant HYBE earlier this year.
According to a report by The Korea Herald, Galaxy Corporation is currently in the process of conducting market research to assess the viability of an Indian branch. This would mark the company's fourth official legal entity outside of South Korea, adding to its existing operations in the United States, Japan, and Hong Kong. While the agency maintains an office in Singapore, it is not currently classified as a separate legal entity.
Laying the Groundwork for Live Shows? The potential business expansion appears to be linked to live performance opportunities. Sources indicate that G-Dragon’s team began making local inquiries regarding concert demand and performance guarantees in India as early as late 2024.
"Galaxy Corp.’s business division is conducting market research related to entry into India and is also working on establishing an Indian subsidiary," a source told The Korea Herald.
A Triumphant Return The business news comes amidst a wave of critical acclaim for G-Dragon’s latest musical release. His new album, Übermensch, has been hailed as a return to form. The project features high-profile collaborations, including a track with disco legend Nile Rodgers ('Take Me') and a co-write with American hitmaker Diane Warren on the track 'Drama'.
With the Indian music market growing rapidly, a local presence for Galaxy Corporation could signal a new era of accessibility for Indian K-pop fans eager to see the "King of K-pop" live.
